For a detailed report on how to manage a client’s particular manual handling tasks an occupational therapist maybe required. A client may have an injury or is awaiting surgery and the manual handling task may be specific to prevent any further decline in their injury or condition. (therefore, the manual handling of that client may change again after they have had their surgery.

For clients under NDIS, when their condition has undergone some form of change and their needs have changed the client should request an early review of their plan to ensure they get the appropriate funding to reflect their changing needs.

Plans document what treatments have been implemented for a client both their current interventions as well as past interventions. This assists medical and other specialists in determining a treatment plan for the client.  It informs them on what worked for the client previously and what has not worked.

By having the client’s care requirements documented it also provides the information to medical and other specialists on the other treatments a client may be receiving from another specialist.
