Carer Job Description

Finding the right carer

This document outlines the job role and expectations of the client and family for the carer.  It includes the characteristics and qualities the family and client are looking for in a carer.  Examples of this would be, a client may be looking for a carer who can do sign language, be between the ages of 25 and 35 years old, is active, enjoys the outdoors etc.

This document also outlines the tasks the carer would be expected to do whilst on shift.   It outlines the hours and days required.  Whether you would be working alone or as part of a team as well as giving the carer an overview of the client and their care needs.  This document would also outline the level of expertise a carer would need to have to be able to support the client. (e.g. epilepsy trained for clients who have epilepsy).

At Get Organised Client services we can write the carer profile or job description but we are also able to write the advertisement for a carer for the clients and families if they require it.

Plans document what treatments have been implemented for a client both their current interventions as well as past interventions. This assists medical and other specialists in determining a treatment plan for the client.  It informs them on what worked for the client previously and what has not worked.

By having the client’s care requirements documented it also provides the information to medical and other specialists on the other treatments a client may be receiving from another specialist. This means that all specialists are working collaboratively to provide the best quality of care for the client.
